How do you feel today?
Are you happy, joyful, grateful? Or are you anxious, stressed, and depressed?
We think of feelings as these complicated things in our lives that have no beginning and no end.
Well, feelings are not that complicated. They are the habits, results, and consequences of how we live our daily lives. How you feel is a direct result of how you treat yourself and how you speak to yourself on a daily basis. It’s not unlike other relationships.
The quality of all your relationships is based on the quality of words and time you give to a person. So why not evaluate how we’re giving these things to ourselves?
Are you constantly criticizing yourself and sacrificing all of your time for others?
Or do you spend time daily, even if its just a couple of minutes, to nurturing yourself and build yourself up? Are you worthy of your own focus?
Take a look at your life. Start listening to how you speak to yourself. This will determine how you feel daily. If you’re overwhelmed with negative emotions, start giving yourself at least five minutes of positive time a day. This is why self care matters. It’s not just a way to pamper yourself. The quality of your self care determines the very quality of your life.
Depression isn’t a Prozac deficiency. It’s a habitual way in which you treat yourself. Change your self talk. Give yourself some time. And you’ll notice things start to change within you. It’s not complicated. It’s quite simple. But you have to do it.
I listen to my positive self talk audios everyday to habituate positive emotions. This is a great place to start.
