Chia seeds are an amazing superfood! Chia seeds are rich in omega 3 fatty acids, protein, and fiber. They are a great way to start your day as they are very energizing too.
Chia seeds are easy to add to your diet. You can add them to salads, juices, sandwiches, etc.
I like to make a breakfast cereal out of the chia seeds. It has a nice texture and is fun to eat. Plus, it’s really quick and easy to make.
- 3 TB chia seeds
- 1 cup of almond milk (or other favorite milk substitute)
- 1/2 cup of fresh or dried fruit cut up into small pieces. I used figs this time.
Put the chia seeds in a bowl. Cover with the almond milk and stir to evenly distribute the chia seeds. Let sit for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes are up, add the dried or fresh fruit pieces. Stir. Add more milk if the consistency is too thick for your preference. Otherwise, eat and enjoy. This is a real power breakfast that will supply you with energy and stamina for the rest of the day. It is also quite filling.
The texture is different, but allow yourself to enjoy it.
