We all know we’re suppose to drink lots and lots of water today (here’s why). But we don’t always do what we’re suppose to do. In truth, you should drink half your body weight in ounces of water every day. So if you weight 200 lbs., you should drink 100 ounces of water.
So how close are you to fulfilling your daily requirement of water?
If you’re like me, you may need a little bit of help. Why is it so hard to drink so much water? Well, that’s easy, it doesn’t taste as good as soda and sugary drinks. And it doesn’t supply immediate energy like coffee or a coke. I saw this recipe for spicing up your water.
If you are looking to lose weight, this is also a great recipe. It contains plenty of vitamin C, which turns fat into fuel. And tangerine is known to increase weight lost. You should drink at least three 8 oz glasses per day. You can eat them as well after you finish drinking the water but they are intended as flavoring.
8 oz serving
- 1 sliced grapefruit
- 1 peeled tangerine
- ½ sliced cucumber
- 2 peppermint leaves
- Ice – as much as you like
Wash grapefruit, tangerine cucumber, and peppermint leaves. Slice cucumber, grapefruit and tangerine (or peel). Combine all ingredients (fruits, vegetable, 8 oz water, and ice) into a large pitcher.
Stir & Enjoy!
The longer you let it sit, the better it taste. Keep refrigerated. It’s quite delicious!
