I recently started a new meditation routine. The purpose of this meditation is to give me the opportunity to be silent and restore my sense of peace stillness. It also helps me focus on my goals and the intentions I want to manifest.
I use several different ways to meditate depending on what is going on in my life.
I do this meditation routine when I first wake up in the morning. This is the most significant time of day because it sets the tone for the rest of the day. It also is the time when we are the most clear minded and open-hearted so we don’t have to work as hard to concentrate as we meditate. We haven’t yet gotten involved in the bussyness of our day so our minds aren’t racing a mile a minute…yet.
For this meditation, I use four simple items:
- Mala beads (prayer/meditation beads that resemble a rosary
To begin this meditation, I light the incense first. The incense represents a clearing away of old, stagnant energy. It helps us let go of anything that no longer supports us. It’s great to use sage or dragon blood incense because these are both very clearing and cleansing scents. But any incense can work.
The next thing I do is light the candle to represent my new intentions and future manifestations. The flame is a symbol of my heart’s desires and my inner self’s ability to manifest my dreams into realities. You can use any candle. I like to use chakra candles or candles charged with reiki. Just be careful when you’re dealing with an open flame. Use caution.
The next step is to grab my mala beads and begin reciting my mantras for 108 repetitions. The mantra I’m focusing on this month is a sanscrit mantra for removing obstacles. It is:
OM GUM GANAPATAYE NAMAHA
(Watch this youtube video for help with pronunciation.)
Feel free to use any chat that resonates with you and your life in this moment. You can use Sanskrit chants, Buddhist chants, repeat an affirmation, or a prayer.
When I complete 108 repetitions of the chant, I take a deep breath and then I write in my journal 5 things that I would to manifest into my life. Now that I’ve set the intention and cleared the space, it’s time to focus my heart and mind on what I want to manifest into my life right now. I write my intentions in the form of affirmations. For example if I want better communication with my hubby, I say, “My husband and I now communicate clearly and effectively.” If I want more money, I might say, “I am open to receiving financial abundance.”
I write these affirmations down. Take another deep breath. And bow my head as a sign that this meditation session is complete.
This meditation has enhanced my feeling of peace and it has made it easy for me to focus on my goals and achieve some pretty impressive things. Everything I have affirmed during this meditation is starting to manifest. It’s a pretty powerful process.
I encourage you to develop a morning prayer or meditation routine. It’s important to carve out time and space to acknowledge our divine nature and be at peace. This is how you make something sacred and you always want to honor the innermost parts of who you are.
