For the last week, I have been doing a juice cleanse. I started the cleanse by doing the Arden’s Garden 2 Day Detox. <— Read my review of the 2 Day Detox to find out how I do it a little different than everyone else.
Once I finished with the 2 Day Detox, I continued with my cleanse, but I switched to Arden’s Garden’s other juices. My main rule of thumb is to do fruit juices in the morning and vegetable juices in the evening. I stayed away from the smoothies because although they’re great for the body, smoothies slow down the cleansing process. And I have been a sugar addict the last few days. Okay, okay, it’s really been the last few weeks. lol. So I really wanted to get all of the yucky holiday food out of my system so I could start functioning at my best again.
So I went to pick up my juices from Arden’s Garden in East Point, Ga. (Read the Yelp.com Reviews.) This is actually the factory where all the juices are made. I find that this location has the most variety and is usually fully stocked since they don’t have to go far to deliver here. The factory is literally connected to this store location.
So I selected enough juice for a couple of days plus some extra for Skye and Matt so they wouldn’t drink all of my juice. If you have a family or live with anyone else, ALWAYS keep extra juice in the fridge. You’d hate to be down to one or two juices and someone drink it. Having juice readily available is the only way to succeed at a fast and detox. This way, you’re never tempted to break your fast early.
Always better to have too much than too little.
Hubby is checking out while I’m making sure I chose the right juices! They have so many to choose from. If you look right behind Matt’s head, you’ll see a photo of Arden Zinn, who started Arden’s Garden. Her daughter, Leslie runs the business now. I did a 21 day juice cleanse with Arden and she is such a lovely person. Her and Leslie are very sweet and care a great deal about wellness.
Okay I think I’m ready now. I should have enough to last 3-4 days. But I can always get more when I need to. My plan is to fast for 7 days: two days for the detox and 5 days drinking Arden’s Garden’s other juices along with some juicing of my own.
- The 2 Day Detox (not pictured above)
- Beware It’s Pear
- Beet It Better
- Yoga 1
- Red Apple
I loved the Carrot and Beet It Better, which is pretty spicy with the ginger, but my favorite juice is the new Yoga 1. This is a pretty new juice that came out recently. It is so good. It’s a veggie juice mostly. But it has pineapple in it so it is really sweet and tasty. I couldn’t even really taste the greens.
Some of the green juices are a little hard to get down, especially if you’re new to juicing and fasting. But Yoga 1 taste like a treat so you can enjoy the taste while also getting the nutrients you need from the greens.
Just a quick note, Arden’s Garden uses a light pasteurizing method so these juices must be refrigerated. They’re not overly pasteurized like the juices you find in a regular grocery store. Please, please put them in the fridge asap. And leave them there until you’re ready to drink them!
