It’s a new year and you’re determined to create a new life — right?
Well before you can change any aspect of your life, you have to look at the people you hang around.
Have you heard that your income is the average of the people you hang around the most?
Or how about this, your health is only as good as the health of the people you spend the most time with?
Once I went to a chiropractor with two of my friends. We all got adjusted. When the chiropractor finished adjusting us, she asked, “You all hang out with each other a lot right?”
We exchanged looks because we thought this was a weird questions. “Yeah, I guess so” I finally said.
“I can tell. All three of you have the exact same misalignments.”
Whoa! Even our bodies start to mimic the structure of the people we spend the most time with.
Basically put, your friends matter. They’re not just the people who make us laugh. They are the people we become.
So take a look at your friends. Do they inspire you? Do you want to be like them? Does their very presence make you feel good about who you are?
If you answered no to any of these questions, it may be time to surround yourself with more supportive people.
