Milk baths are like heaven. And we all need a little heaven in our skin care regiments now that spring and summer are upon us.
You’ve probably heard of Cleopatra taking milk baths centuries ago to maintain her beauty. Myth or fact? Who knows, but the truth is milk baths are very nourishing to the skin. The lactic acid in milk helps remove dead skin cells. Milk baths make the skin look so young and vibrant. It’s one of my favorite beauty treatments. It also softens the skin.
I follow a mostly vegan diet, so I don’t use cow milk. My favorite milks to use for baths are coconut, almond, and rice milk. Coconut is super thick and creamy. Almond milk is not as thick as coconut milk, but thicker than rice milk. Rice milk is thin, but still has great skin benefits.
Here’s the bath recipe:
- 2 cups of milk (almond, coconut, or rice milk)
- 20 drops of lavender essential oils
Put the milk in a warm tub of water. Add the lavender right before you climb in.
The bath is super relaxing. So you’ll be beautiful and calm when you finish the bath.
