The other day I had a serious ice cream craving. I don’t think it was a pregnancy craving. I believe it was a habit craving.
Let me explain.
Every summer for like 20 years of my life, the beginning of summer meant eating tons and tons of ice cream. I was an ice cream junky for years. So now, whenever summer approaches, I start wanting ice cream because it’s been my habit for so long. Well, I don’t eat dairy any more. So sometimes this ice cream craving can be inconvenient. However, I have found the perfect ice cream to meet my cravings.
Coconut milk ice cream is the best! I like it better than regular ice cream. It’s been a long time since I had dairy ice cream — over 10 years. But I swear coconut ice cream is absolutely delicious and the best ice cream I’ve ever had.
I wouldn’t call this ice cream healthy because it’s still high is sugar. But I would say it’s a natural alternative to dairy ice cream, which is usually full of junk. I’m all about finding healthy alternatives to the foods we crave.
Coconut ice cream is better than rice, soy, and almond ice creams that I’ve tasted over the years. Soy is the next best, but it’s far from the creamy, delicious taste of coconut milk ice cream.
The nice thing about coconut ice cream is that it comes in a lot of different flavors. However, not all stores carry all of the flavors. Wholefoods has had the largest variety of flavors from what I’m seen. They even have cookies and cream. The cookie dough ice cream is absolutely delicious! It seems like this brand, So Delicious, also adds new additional flavors every few months.
As you can see, sometimes we can give in to our cravings with healthier alternative. Just do a little bit of research and see if there is a healthy alternative to your favorite junk foods. Health foods have come a long way in the last 10 years. You’d be surprised!
