Last year, I took a raw food preparation class.
I’ve been experimenting with raw food for about 10 years so I really thought there was nothing new I could learn, which is why I’ve never taken a class. I’m mostly self taught when it comes to raw food recipes and health and wellness. I’ve read a few books, watched some youtube videos, and then just got into the kitchen to experiment.
However, the class just fell into my lap. It was free and I was available so I decided to go.
The class was amazing! I didn’t learn anything huge. But I learned so may small preparation tips that will make raw food prep just a little easier. It also sparked my imagination and had me experimenting more and more with raw foods through the rest of the year. I even had a raw thanksgiving while everyone else ate cooked.
The raw food prep class really gave me the motivation I needed to improve my diet and incorporate more raw foods in.
During the class, we learned how to make two different raw pizza recipes. The class inspired this raw pizza recipe.
Here’s the wonderful chef Laura Grierson who taught the class. She was so knowledgeable about everything raw food. She loves the raw food lifestyle and was super enthusiastic during the class. It kept things interesting.
The class was held at the Living Food Institute in Atlanta, GA. This place radiates positivity. The walls are covered with the most beautiful paintings and affirmations. Here’s one of my favorites that was on the wall.
Being at the institute makes you feel so joyful and inspired. I felt stress and negativity just melt away from me when I sat down and waited for the class to start.
Here are some photos of the final product. We made marinara sauce pizza and pesto sauce pizza and salad. It tastes really good. We worked together in groups to make the pizza. Each group made two pizzas, but we were able to taste a small piece of every group’s pizza.
Everything was so good!
