“Take the first step in faith. You don’t have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step.”
We’re taught to plan out our whole lives before we even learn who we truly are as individuals. As children, people constantly ask us, “What do you want to be when you grow up?”
John Lennon recounts responding to this question, “happy.”
Not too shabby of an answer, eh?
Self-discovery leads to self-realization. Take the time to discover who you are and what you value. This is the only foundation on which you can build a real, content, and satisfying life for yourself. Before choosing a career. Before choosing a spouse. Before buying a house.
The first step toward happiness is self discovery. Who are you?
If you can’t answer this with absolute, 100 % certainty than you need to delve into self-discovery. Just take a step, you don’t need to know the entire syllabus of your life. The map will reveal itself as you start moving forward.
Start by doing something you enjoy. As you invite more joy into your life, your mind and heart will open to new possibilities for your life.
So many times we want to stand in one place and point to another and throw a tantrum about how we want to be over there. Well you can’t get there if you’re standing still in one place.
Take the first step.
