Managing your health these days takes a team effort. In a world where many Primary Care physicians have become drug pushers, it’s imperative that we surround ourselves with knowledgeable people who can help us manage all different aspects of our health — mind, body, and spirit.
Most of the diseases people die from are lifestyle diseases. This means the way we are living is literally killing us. So we need to live differently, more enlightening, and more fulfilling lives. Healthy doesn’t just mean eating right and exercising, that’s only a part of it. Being health means living more fully in the present moment and being able to show up fully in all the areas of life that matter to you.
Since holistic doctors don’t yet exist in mainstream, we must create our own team of holistic doctors.
So based on my 10+ years of experience in the health arena, here are 5 types of medical and health experts you need in your life.
1. Primary Care Physician
You should be going to the doctor once a year to get your vitals checked out. Western Medicine has the most advanced medical testing and equipment in the world. So get tested. This will ensure you know where you stand in your health. I’m not a big fan of using drugs to treat every sniffle and cough, but in general there’s no hard in making sure your healthy and seek other measures if something may be out of whack. Don’t be shy with your doctor. Let them know when you wish to explore other methods of healing.
It is my hope that communicating this to doctors will help make medicine more well-rounded.
