There’s nothing worse than the feeling of being stuck. Whether it’s a job, relationship, or any type of hardship, most prefer the ability to move and grow without limitations.
In addition to being good for your physical health, exercise helps you to get out of emotional ruts. The very act of movement is an amazing anecdote for helping you to move through emotional pain and life struggles.
The key to creating an effective exercise routine is to choose something you enjoy! I know you’ve probably heard this before. But actually try it.
So often we choose exercises that are strenuous and demanding like jogging, aerobics, or whatever is the new thing like PX90. Now don’t get me wrong, many of these techniques have worked for some. However, they are not a one size fits all approach for everyone.
Finding something you enjoy helps you maintain consistency, persistence, and longevity in your routine. It also gives you more joy and emotional stress relief in your daily life. As adults, we rarely experience the joy of playfulness anymore. We no longer have scheduled recess (although I think this would be a great idea). Hula Hooping is a great way to relive our childhood playfulness.
Physical activities, games, and general playing restores our bodies and spirits and maintains our own levels of joy, creativity, and fun.
