Snacking has gotten a bad reputation over the last few years. When we think of snacking, we think of overindulging on junk foods.
But I would like to present a different idea of snacking. I believe snacking is key to a good, healthy diet and metabolism.
This morning, I was super hungry. But before I have breakfast, I had a cup of water and then filled a cup full of berries. I had organic strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries. This was a super antioxidant snack. I always choose organic berries because they are one of the foods that receive the most pesticides. Eating non organic berries isn’t even worth it. Check out the list of conventional foods highest in pesticides.
This snack was super easy to prepare. I just filled the cup with my chosen berries. Then, I washed them off with my special fruit and veggie wash, which is super easy and super cheap to make. Check it out here.
It took me less than 5 minutes to prepare. And it took the hunger edge off before breakfast. By the time I was ready to eat again, I wasn’t starving and could make a much healthier decision about what to eat. This is the value of snacking. If you choose a healthy snack, it can nourish you and calm your hunger down so you can make wise decisions about food.
Have you ever gone into a grocery store hungry? Do you make the best purchases when you’re hungry? Of course not! Well this is how snacking can help you. It’s better for your health, your metabolism, and your mind not to allow your body to get to the point of extreme hunger.
So add some healthy snacking to your daily food intake and see if it’s beneficial for you!
