This is a challenging thing to do. Many times when people question or doubt us, we feel the need to prove them wrong with our actions or our words. I’m encouraging you to try a different approach the next time someone doubts you. Firmly look them in the eye, take a deep breath, and repeat whatever it is you want to get across.
You see, we like to believe that we’re mostly logical beings, but we’re not. There’s still a large part of us that is primordial and showing confidence and being assertive about who you are will take you a long way. When we express ourselves from a place of certainty and groundedness, people respond. This is a key essence of leadership.
We must be sure of ourselves in order to convince others.
We must like ourselves in order for others to like us.
We must follow our gut instincts before others will follow us.
This is the law of influence. Learn to feel powerful in who you are and you’ll notice that others will respond.
